The energy supply in houses and small offices typically consists of heating and electric power, of which the first is generated at home and the second is generated in a large power plant and transported to the houses. But why not produce the electricity at home as well? This is known as Micro Combined Heat and Power (micro CHP). A typical “chicken-egg” problem is obstructing massive introduction of micro CHP: a large volume is needed to achieve a low cost price, whereas a low cost price is needed to achieve large scale market introduction.The MTT micro CHP solution solves this problem: its micro CHP system is built out of commercial of the shelve components that are widely used in the automotive industry, thus allowing for a relative low price.
